Civil Law 2-2 (Torts law)
Tort liability -Basis of liability - Distinctions - Personal liability - Liability for things - Vicarious liability - Special liability (traffic accidents, defective products) - Causal link - Damage - Compensation for damage
The civil liability course traditionally extends the contract law course to train students in the essential matter of obligation law. The emphasis here is on liability outside the contract after recalling the principles, functions and basis on which tort liability is based. It then presents the different facts giving rise to liability (fault-based liability, strict liability for damage caused by thing, vicarious liability) and the issues common to all liabilities (causality and grounds for exemption, damage and its compensation).
