This course is divided in two sections, and each section in two parts. The first part focus on the main definitions of economic development, some of its dimensions (geography, trade and institutions), as well as stylized facts. The second part makes a historical review of theories on economic development. The third part presents at first different development policies, while the last part focus on many subjects such as inequality, poverty, human capital and migration.

This course has as objective that in the end of the semester, students have acquired the main stylized facts of economic development and the most important tools and framework of development economics.
